Bella’s Story – 2x Cruciate Ligament ruptures (TPLO repairs)
Bella is the sweetest Collie that is a famous TV superstar!
Bella first came to see me 6 weeks after she sadly tore her right cruciate ligament and had a partial tear in the other! After surgery to repair her right CCL, Bella was a little nervous about using her leg at first. But with a little patience, pain control and encouragement she started regaining her confidence, and it wasn’t long before she was making huge strides in her recovery. Bella continued to improve and after only [how long], she had made a full recovery and was back to living her life to the full.
However, only 1 year later, sadly her left cruciate, which had initially fully healed, tore as well and Bella had to undergo another surgery to repair this leg. Luckily, she had an amazing vet on her team, and Bella had her first rehab session only 2 days after her surgery. Initially, we focused on laser therapy to help her surgical site heal and to provide pain relief, before slowly adding in strengthening exercises as her bones healed. Bella smashed her goals, and after only [how long] from her second surgery, she was discharged from her rehabilitation plan. She now comes every 2 weeks for maintenance and arthritis prevention and is doing amazingly well! Keep up the good work Bella!
