Does your dog have boundless amounts of energy and need an outlet? Or does your dog have a condition that means they can’t do other sports such as Flyball or Agility? Maybe you have a retired sports dog who is not quite ready to retire completely? Or maybe a puppy who is not quite old enough for higher impact sports?
Introducing Hoopers Therapy!
Hoopers is a fun, low-impact sport with no jumping or tight turns. Instead, dogs navigate a course of ground-level hoops, barrels, tunnels and dash-mats, competing to be the fastest. It is a perfect sport for dogs young and old, with niggles, aches and pains, and who are reactive or nervous in nature. You can run with your dog or build up your distance handling skills, making it inclusive for owners struggling with their own mobility but still want to have fun with their dog.
At Hoopers Therapy, we take full advantage of having a fully qualified veterinary physiotherapist as your instructor, integrating canine health and fitness into our classes. This means you will not only improve your Hoopers skills, you can also learn how to take care of your canine athlete to keep them having fun for longer!
At Hoopers Therapy, we welcome anyone who wants to have fun with their dog. Want to compete? Amazing, let’s be the best! Not interested in competing? Absolutely no problem, let’s play!
About your instructor
I found Hoopers in 2021 when I was looking for a sport that my 2 year-old Border Collie could take part in after he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. And after only one session it is safe to say I caught the bug. We are now currently Grade 2, having trained with some of the best instructors in the UK and competing regularly across the country, including in several Championships.
I completed my UK Hoopers Gold Instructors training in early 2024 and now I want to share my knowledge and experience with you! As a physiotherapist, I graduated from Harper Adams University in 2018 with a BSc (Honours) in Veterinary Physiotherapy, winning Veterinary Physiotherapist of the Year at the same time. I also hold an OFQUAL Level 3 in Canine First Aid so you can be assured your dog is in the best hands.
